Merok Cottage dates from 1826 and is a self-catering holiday cottage in a quiet lane in a small unspoilt village in the beautiful North Yorkshire countryside. It has a double bedroom and adult size bunk beds in the second bedroom. The well equipped kitchen has pretty views over the small rear garden and beyond. It is perfect for couples, or families who would like to explore the Yorkshire and Durham Dales area. With fast fibre broadband and a smart TV you can relax on the sofa or catch up with emails if you need to.

Merok Cottage is an ideal base to explore North Yorkshire and County Durham. There are superb pubs, restaurants and excellent farm shops nearby if you are interested in sampling great food and drink. The area is very popular with walkers keen to explore the many trails in the area or simply taking a footpath up to Barningham moor from the cottage. Explore the local market towns of Barnard Castle and Richmond, or take a day trip to The Lake District, Whitby on the coast or The Yorkshire Dales National Park to the South. The area is rich in historical sites with Hadrian’s Wall to the North and York an hour away. Alternatively, you could light the wood-burning stove, settle on the sofa and have a quiet night in!

 

Prices

Low Season Prices begin at £350 for a Week, and £250 for Monday to Friday, or Friday to Monday Short Breaks.
In the Peak Summer Season and at Christmas and New Year we have a weekly rate of £650.
Weekly stays are from Friday to Friday.
